Hi, my name is Elaine. Thanks for taking a few minutes to read my profile. I am a qualified Relationship Counsellor with several years experience working with couples and individuals on a variety of issues.
About me and my practice
Relationships are central to everything we do and we can develop ways of relating to others which are not helpful leading to misunderstandings and impacting how we communicate.
When working with you we will do this at your pace to achive your aims. We will take time to understand your experience and how this may be impacting your relationships and how you interact with others.
Whether working with you indiviudally or with your partner as we build understanding we will think about what tools you can use to improve your relationships and understand the changes you would like to make.
I offer both short and long term counselling with regular reviews with clients. I understand that we all have busy lives and I am happy to discuss the frequency and timing of your sessions with you and this is also regularly reviewed during our work together.
Experience
As a relationship counsellor I work with relational issues which include trauma, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, loss, bereavement, communication, relationship breakdown, attachment, anger and emotional connection. I also understand the importance of workplace dynamics and relationships to clients and how this can impact mental wellbeing at different stages of our lives.
I am experienced in Online and in person counselling and happy to discuss in person sessions for clients in the Edinburgh area.
I have worked for a charitable organisation and also in Private Practice for a number of years.

Initial Consultation
I offer an initial conversation which normally lasts 15-20 minutes for us to discuss what you are looking for from counselling and the possiblity of us working together. There is no charge for this initial conversation.
Fees
Individual Sessions £60
Couple Sessions £70
Sessions are offered weekly or fortnighly, however, I work flexibly with clients and frequency and timing of sessions can be discussed during our intial call. In some circumstances it may also be possible to discuss the session fee further.
